It's really small, and oftentimes I want to use a car because of the distance. When you leave the grocery store, somebody else has rented your car, but a block away there are two others to choose from. So you show up to the grocery store, park it, and end the renta. Within the home area, you can park it pretty much anywhere, and find one within a mile. This is so much cheaper than taking a taxi. If I only need the car for 10 minutes, that's less than $4. No signup fee if you type in the promotional code "COLLEGE"Ĭosts $0.38/minute (or $14/hr, or $73/day). I usually ride my bike everywhere, but every few days I feel having a car helps (if it's raining or if I need to bring my dog with me somewhere). ![]() I use Car2Go but have been thinking of also joining ZipCar. ![]() I'd honestly like to know more about the zipcars, I don't know if I've even seen one. I've taken one out to Bastrop for a day and brought it back just because, they're good cars, kinda like driving an automatic standard if that makes sense. They just added parking spots out at the airport for them where you can end your rental there, which is nice seeing as ABIA is out of the home area. I personally get a little peeved with people who park them in their apartment parking lots and end their rentals, this is a no-no as far as their policy goes, so I go out of my way to take those if i see them. If you end your trip, you're not currently paying for the car, but someone else can come take it. ![]() If you make a stopover, no one else can take your car, but the meter keeps running. To answer your question, when you park the car, you have the options to make a stopover, (keep the rental going) end your trip, or get gas. There's usually one within less than a mile of me, sometimes more than one to choose from if one is smelly/low on gas/whatever. I use car2go pretty frequently, and I like it a lot.
